Major reforms in disability services led to many changes, such as the closure of Mangere Hospital in 1994. The people who lived there needed an organisation to continue their services - that organisation was Spectrum Care.
Upon leaving the hospital, residents became more than just patients, for Spectrum Care they were people who deserved much more. Supported in the community, the people we work alongside developed skills that enabled them to live lives of choice, freedom and independence.
Over 25 years later we are still growing, and we are now one of the largest disability support services in New Zealand.
